Holland.com, a major organization promoting tourism in the Netherlands, currently collects all kinds of information about hotels, museums, restaurants and points of interest, and distributes this information in many different languages to customers all over the world. The information is stored in legacy systems and is delivered to customers via a series of individually customized applications. However, maintaining these applications is labor intensive, and creating yet more new ones is expensive and time consuming.

To solve this problem, Xaton built a SOA that allows clients to make simple web-service calls to obtain tourist information in the language of their choice.  Rich functionalities are offered to support convenient delivery of selected information.  The system is based on Java technology using the frameworks Hibernate and Spring.
