KPN

Over the last two years Xaton has been a trusted supplier of KPN for delivery of web applications and consulting. Currently Xaton is responsible for realization of 2 projects, one web portal and one web application. Two examples of work that we’ve done for KPN in the past are Commercial Orchestration and Website interoperability.

One of the most challenging projects was the design and development of a working prototype for a new-generation commercial orchestration system.

Such a system receives complex orders, splits them out in sub-orders to be delivered by different subsystems, plans the execution of those suborders taking into account the dependencies and availibility of resources. The orchestration system reserves the required resources, instructs the different subsystems to execute their task and follows the execution closely. The whole planning is adapted when required.

Xaton executed a study on possible improvements in the user experience for customers visiting the different KPN portals. Special attention was paid to the possibilities for Single Sign On and the maintenance of sessions and relevant data while surfing the KPN sites. The results of this work have assisted KPN in making the right technology choices for a new web-portal.
